Weigh in Wednesday - Wk2

Thank goodness I had a more significant weight loss this week of -1.6kg. I was so nervous to get on the scales this morning just in case they showed nothing again and after all the hard work of the last week I would have been shattered. But it is all good and if I just keep going I know I will keep losing and getting closer and closer to my goal. I hope everyone else out there is doing OK this week.

Week One down

It felt really good to finish week one and know that I did everything right and maybe a bit better than right :)

Week One (calories in, BMR, workout calories out, surplus/deficit)
Monday (1105, 1605, 745, -1245)
Tuesday (1205, 1605, 500, -900)
Wednesday (1084, 1605, 533, -1054)
Thursday (1116, 1605, 539, -1028)
Friday (1011, 1605, 0, -594)
Saturday (1049, 1605, 884, -1440)
Sunday (1184, 1605, 858, -1279)

TOTAL weekly surplus/deficit = -7540

So it is all looking good. I loved the meals, only swapped a few things around and really picked up my exercise. Week two has started and I loved the sandwich for lunch (Mediterranean vegetables with basil ricotta - mmmnnnnn!)

I went to the gym a couple of times (casual entry as I blew a lot of my money last time I joined for a year) and really enjoyed it.

I love getting out and about outdoors and had a great bushwalk/trailrun on Sunday. I am going to try and do a lot more bushwalks as Sydney has so many gorgeous National Parks on hand and at the moment all the wild flowers are out - I love spring!

So this is week two and I plan on being on the money again this week - I am determined to look and feel good for Christmas and the festive season!

Challenge set wk 1

OK, I am rising to the challenge set by @justmekath (http://courage2start.blogspot.com) - to help keep me on track

1. Describe yourself in 25 words or less. You can get straight to the point - or bring your creativity into play.
organics - farmer's markets - protected areas - conservation - flowers - do too much all the time - knitting - sailing - outdoors - friends - family - dreamer - glass half full - reading - studying - writing - planning - farming - and the list goes on....

2. What brings you to 12wbt? Getting fitter? Losing weight? (Gaining weight??) Are you first timer, a repeat offender??
I am first-timer to the #12wbt, but not to dieting and fitness. I tend to manage best when there is support around me and I am not trying to do it on my own. I am also good when I am accountable out there. I want to lose 25kg all up, but would be happy with 15kg. I have had 1 flu, 1 lung infection and 6 head colds this year, which contributed to me putting on 14kg, so looking forward to being fit and healthy again.

3. Why do you blog??
Helps keep me accountable and connected.

4. Who is your biggest inspiration in life and why (doesn't have to be weight loss)

A hard question, there are quite a few major inspirations. My Mum the most as she is amazing in so many ways. I also really admire Bob Brown, quite a few academics in sociology and geography.

5. What things in life bring you the most joy?
The little things - flowers, a sunny day, the smell of jasmine flowers in spring, snow, gum trees on grey sky, the ocean, mountains, nature........

6.What do you think your greatest challenge is going to be this round?
Sticking to it rigidly and keeping motivated - I have a lot going on at the moment.

7. What are you most excited about 12wbt?
Making new friends, getting back to feeling good about myself, a goal to focus on.

8. And what scares the pants off you?
1200 calories and high exercise making me tired and lethargic and affecting my brain function. I hope I will be OK - work is demanding and I am writing up my PhD, I need 100% brain function. Also scared I won't stick to it and will fail myself.

9. Tell me - right now - today - how do you feel about exercise in no more than 10 words
Hard to get started, but feel soooooooo good afterwards. Even when I have sore bits, I know it is becasue I have done good :)

10. Complete this sentence - in 12 weeks time - on the last day of 12wbt I am going to be feeling ____________________
fit, fabulous and transformed.

one day to go

It has been a pretty rocky couple of weeks for me and I'm sorry I have not been posting more. My partner and I are breaking up, not for lack of love, but because I want kids and he doesn't. So I am going to need this 12WBT even more now to keep me distracted and focused on me and what I need to move into this next phase of life. Bring it on!

I did receive my Polar heart rate monitor in the post on Wednesday (ordered it on Tuesday - so very impressed) and I finally used it today. It was good to see what 500 calories burnt looks like and what extra I need to do on top of the C25K program that I am doing once again. The C25K program is great and I have done it before and got up to running 7+ kms. I have been sick a lot this year and so my fitness and weight have taken a bashing - so back to C25K and now 12WBT and getting back on track.

I have done all my pre-season tasks and my fridge is full of good things and ready. I am excited and can't wait to see the kilos and centimetres drop off.

My commitment

My commitment is to put 100% effort into my health from now on by focusing on my diet (calories in) and exercise (calories out) until I reach my goal weight (67 kg). I am 100% committed to do the work to get me there.

taking control

I took control again this morning and it feels really good. It was not easy as I have an awful lot going on in my life at the moment and I get quite stressed and anxious when I take on too much. But I also know that it all becomes much easier when I prioritise my health and that means diet, exercise and mindfulness. This morning I prioritised all three of these things before I start my day of all the other things I have to do. It feels really really good!
I also just watched Michelle's youTube video of the round 2 wrap up and it is very inspirational - check it out

Breakfast was great, I had my favourite, bircher museli - YUM! Today I had organic raspberries and kiwi fruit on top and it was so good. I have planned my eating today and am also going to get "Crunch Time".
